About Us

George Washington Toma TV and Appliance has been a family owned and operated business since its founding in 1953 as Weymouth TV by my father George Washington Toma. The company started in a small brick building right around the corner from our current location. If you wonder how he got his name it is because he was born on February 22 and his mother wanted him to be special like his namesake.

In 1988 his son George Anthony Toma became president of the company and moved the store to its current location in Jackson Square. George Washington Toma TV and Appliance has grown to be the largest independent TV and appliance store in the South Shore. While many other names in electronic and appliances have come and gone Team Toma has grown and changed with the times.

With so few independent retail companies left in the market it's nice to know you can still prosper the old fashion way with a commitment to the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction.
